Walking in silence along the magnificent corridors of the Cathedral of Notre Dame, I was trying to ignore the masses of Japanese and American tourists, and then I came upon this man, who totally impervious to the hustle and bustle of the foot traffic in mid-afternoon, was having a tête-à-tête, as it were, with the big guy upstairs.
