The colleague, Ecuador, 2000

Men like this one are my colleagues anywhere in the world. I met the photographer, and his make-believe horse, in Southern Ecuador, in the town of Baños, where he works every day of the week photographing peasants.
His busiest time is during market days, when people come down from the nearby mountains to sell their produce in the town's square. The children climb atop the horse, and pretend to gallop, whilst having their picture taken for posterity.
That is exactly what I did when I met him, during the summer of 2000.
