April 30, 1973

 This is the document I presented to the immigration authorities at my arrival in Toronto International Airport on this date, nearly fifty years ago.

Little did I know of what was to come after that day. My new life opening in front of me. All those doors opening and all those friendships and experiences that were about to start.

Every year on this particular date I remember my arrival at that city and country that would eventually forge my future life. The one I now have.

Memory of my mother. On her birthday April 23rd - San Francisco, California 1992.

 On this date every year I remember my beloved mother Marina. Here she is during the one and only ever trip she took abroad, the summer of 1992 just before the birth of her other American granddaughter, Paula Catalina. She spent her time in our beautiful pad on Kansas Street and enjoyed some of her time with my daughter Sahara, who was eleven years old at the time.
