Black Bird Photograms Painted by Luis Kerch
It has been almost three years since my dear friend Luis Kerch, master landscape painter and colourist extraordinaire, agreed to my petition of adding colour to some of my blackbird photogram series.
The series came about during the course of experimentation in the darkroom with images involving a black bird found dead in the garden one morning and its resulting interpretation as negative images, which in turn became positive photographs upon further exploration.
Luis accepted my proposal with great generosity and in one single day added some incredible touches with his brush to the black and white series, creating among others these three beautiful pieces now on display here.
