Mónika Herrán, Cali 2000
Mónika Herrán, photographer extraordinaire, has produced one of the most positive projects of photography in Colombia. She gave disposable cameras to school age children and regular folk and asked them to record their daily lives, what they saw in their ordinary existences. Which in the end is not quite that ordinary. The project was backed by the Alcaldía de Cali and they had a great photo exhibit and it is now in Europe, doing the rounds, showing the world that Colombia is not just coca and crime.
