An early start
It feels nowadays that life is such a rush, that we must get on to things as quickly as possible. I think these two images are a parable to that effect. I did not start taking photographs until I was in my early twenties and my fascination with the craft, the results a posteriori and the magic involved in them, was related to something more akin to alchemy than to the immediacy of photography. There is no immediacy in shooting film.
All those old concepts have by now become history as they rapidly recede into the past. The new technologies allow children as young as they are capable of holding a camera to their eyes, to see the results of what their father looks like, within seconds...
