Street Vendor, Cali, Colombia 1995

This is the face of hard work and of a long life spent on the survival game. I met this man in 1995 when shooting the documentary on street vendors in Cali, Colombia. As this man there were many other men and women who live their lives on the street 20 hours a day. They try to eke out a living selling from a single cigarette engaging the most elaborate forms of commerce day and night, roaming the streets from bar to bar, from bus to bus, and on foot under the pitiless sun.
